Remote Raman spectroscopy of explosive precursors

چکیده
Deep ultraviolet Raman spectroscopy measurements have been performed at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) with aim of detecting traces (μg range) explosive precursors. In this study, a backscattering system was setup and optimized to detect urea, sodium perchlorate, ammonium nitrate, nitrate 60-cm short-range remote detection. The sample tested 264-nm laser excitation wavelength experimentally observe any possible trace over textiles samples. For each colored textile, spectra were acquired no background fluorescence interference observed wavelength. Detection limits sensitivity an acquisition time up 3 s for microgram are presented.

Portable Raman Spectroscopy in Forensics: Explosive Residues and Inflammable Liquids
Forensics and forensic science are highly popular terms nowadays thanks to famous TV series and films. Most people, inspired by these series, normally associate these terms to crime scene investigation (CSI), ocular inspection and evidence recovery. However, forensics involves much more than CSI, including a vast number of sciences, disciplines and studies such as forensic genetics, chemistry, ...
متن کاملRemote Raman Spectroscopy of Various Mixed and Composite Mineral Phases
Introduction: Remote-Raman [e.g.,1-5] and micro-Raman spectroscopy [e.g., 6-10] are being evaluated on geological samples for their potential applications on Mars rover or lander. The Raman lines of minerals are sharp and distinct. The Raman fingerprints of minerals do not shift appreciably but remain distinct even in sub-micron grains and, therefore, can be used for mineral identification in f...
متن کاملLaser Micro-Raman Spectroscopy of CVD Nanocrystalline Diamond Thin Film
Laser micro-Raman spectroscopy is an ideal tool for assessment and characterization of various types of carbon-based materials. Due to its special optical properties (CrN) coated stainless steel substrates. NCD films have been investigated by laser micro-Raman spectroscopy. The fingerprint of diamond based materials is in the spectral region of 1000-1600 cm-1 in the first order of Raman scatter...
متن کاملRemote Pulsed–laser Raman Spectroscopy System for Mineral Analysis
Introduction: There is a need for an instrument that can be used for remote in situ identification of biogenic and a-biogenic minerals, various types of ices, organic materials etc. on planetary surfaces. The potential for measuring remoteRaman spectra of organic [1] and inorganic materials and minerals [2] with a small telescope and CW lasers have been demonstrated. Pulsed-laser Raman spectros...
متن کاملStandoff raman spectroscopy system for remote chemical detection
We have developed a class of aperture coding schemes for Remote Raman Spectrometers (RRS) that remove the traditional trade-off between throughput and spectral resolution. As a result, the size of the remote interrogation region can be driven by operational, rather than optical considerations. In this paper we present the design of our coded-aperture standoff spectroscopy system as well as expe...
